Merry Christmas

Last weekend Doug's Grandparents came in to town. It was a nice relaxing weekend and we enjoyed seeing them again. Since we have not seen them since before Christmas, we finally got to give them their Christmas presents.

Oh yeah! Remember that hair product that was "discontinued"?

Count 'em! There all mine thanks to some friends. This is me giving the finger to the "nice" lady who told me that it was discontinued. Wat up!

Man what a week!

I have had a very busy week this week. Doug's Grandparents are coming in to town this weekend from Huntsville. So I have been running ragged trying to get the house clean, laundry done, and all the errands ran so we can have a nice relaxing weekend with them. Have I mentioned how much I hate cleaning?

I had a slight freak out last night. I was cleaning and I realized I forgot to go to Target. I needed some stuff but most importantly I needed to get my cousin, Jordan, a card for her graduation from high school. Her school is having graduation on a Thursday so I will not be able to make it. So as I am cleaning I suddenly realize it was the night before her graduation and I did not get her card in the mail. I call Mom freaking out begging her to take Jordan some money so she could spend it on her Sr. trip to Mexico. My Mom let me freak out then reminded me... her graduation is NEXT Thursday. Thanks Mom! Needless to say I got her card and gift today. Just in case.

Today I had a dentist appointment. What fun, I know. I have a lot of cavities that I have been putting off getting fixed, so today was the first of many. I had an old filling chip off of one of my teeth and a cavity formed deep down in that tooth. It did not hurt but it did not feel good when I got food stuck down in it. I have had a few cavities filled before but I have never been numbed for it. They did not hurt so I didn't need it. The last time I was numbed I was 11 or 12. I was getting 4 permanent teeth pulled before I got my braces. Yes, it was a blast! So today was a very unusual day for my mouth. Not only was it numbed but it was drilled in and sanded on. The great thing was I did not feel a thing. It was a-maz-ing! I heard the noises but I never felt the slightest vibration on my tooth. I thought it would just numb the pain if there was any. Nope. I could not feel a thing. I didn't know my actual tooth would be numb! The un-numbing part stunk. It was all tingly and warm feeling. I wanted to be numb or not numb. Not somewhere in between. The girls at work got a kick out of me when I got to work. Mumbling and sucking air trying not to drool all over myself. Yeah, there will be retaliation.

I am blogging right now instead of watching the season finale of Grey's. Why? Because we are so behind on our shows. I think I have 2-3 weeks worth of shows to catch up on. Good thing almost all the shows are having their season finales. I can't wait to catch up. Unfortunately, it will have to be sometime next week. Hey, I think I have a three day weekend next weekend. Yes! And don't forget to watch this season of So You Think You Can Dance. My girl/customer Kathryn will be on the show again this season!

My complaint of the day is... "Why does every hair product I like get discontinued?" I went to 4 different stores today (1 hr total) looking for my current hair product. No one had it on the shelf. The last place finally told me it was discontinued. My question is why? And if it is being replace, with what? I used Frizz-Ease... discontinued. I started using Biolage... discontinued. I used Redkin... discontinued. WHY!!! Do you know how hard it is for me to find products my hair likes and works well with? I don't have perfect hair, you know? I know. Hard to believe. :) But it is true. I work, excuse me, my hair product works very hard to make it look like it does. My hair does not like gels or serums. I have to have a cream or balm. But no. They make gels. Will stupid people stop discontinuing my favorite hair products? And if you have no other choice but to, will you please let me know so I can buy your remaining supply?

Work party at the local baseball game

My work has quarterly meetings and for this quarter we had our meeting at the GreenJackets game. Here are some pictures from the evening.

The Peanut Butter Jar

So the more I am aware of the fact that I am OCD, the more I realize what exact things I am OCD about. We have already touched on the undies OCD. So today I am here to tell you about the Peanut Butter Jar.

I have inherited my Mom's taste buds. We like a lot of the same things. Like, I prefer sugar free cookies and ice cream because that is all she can eat; when she was pregnant with me she ate nothing but pizza and I am half Italian (I swear!); she also likes Mexican and I AM half Mexican!
One of her favorite snacks is anything with peanut butter on it. Celery, apples, Nilla Wafers, ice cream... anything! So I have inherited her love of peanut butter. I eat it almost everyday. I heart peanut butter.

No one else can get the peanut butter out of the jar but me. So if Doug wants a sandwich, tuff luck unless I can do it for him. Why you ask? Because he will mess up the peanut butter. There can be no peanut butter on the sides of the jar. That is a waste. It must be scraped off and eaten. The peanut butter can not have huge craters in it from scooping it out. It must be smooth and all at the same height.

Yes, I spend many minutes scraping the sides of the peanut butter jar with a knife every time I eat anything with peanut butter. Yes, this is a very difficult task. Yes, the veins pop out of my head when I can not get it perfect. And Yes, I love it just the way I do it!

My OCD confession of the month (maybe week).

P.S. The ice cream container has to be done the same way.

So to annoy me Doug will mess up the peanut butter or the ice cream. I retaliate by bouncing on the bed, messing up the pillows and comforter, or by moving stuff around in his bathroom cabinet. Ha! Unfortunately for him I more options to pick from than he does.

Busy weekend

This weekend we had lots to do. Friday was Jessica Young & Courtney Voss's graduation from MCG. Rick & Lisa had a party for them at their house that night. Here are a few pictures from the evening...

Saturday night we had tickets to the local baseball team's game; The Augusta GreenJackets. Ray and Doug's Dad went with us and we had a great time. The team does skits in between each of the innings. They were funny but they got old real quick. The kids loved them so I guess they did their jobs. Here are a few pics from the game...

Today is Mother's Day. I hope all the Mothers out there had a great day. My Mom is in Alabama and Doug's Mom is on her way to Wisconsin to see her Mom. So Doug, his Dad, and I went to lunch at Red Lobster to celebrate. They were packed but the food was yummy.

While everyone else in the world celebrates being a Mom or having a Mom, Doug and I celebrate not being a Mom. We call it Not-a-Mother's Day. The first thing he said to me was "Happy Not-a-Mother's Day!" We still don't want children so we take this day to celebrate it just being the two of us. So Happy Mother's day to all who have chosen that way of life. To the smart ones, Happy Not-a-Mother's Day! Ha!

Best Husband in the World!

Today I came home to a dozen of long stemmed red roses.

Doug was sick and stayed home from work. We had both been up all night and were exhausted but I had to go to work since I was not the one who was sick. So he stayed home and got some rest while I went to work. He had to go to Kroger because we had no soup or easy on the stomach food items. I called him when I got off and he told me he got me a surprise. I was thinking ice cream or a candy bar. Boy did he surprise me.

He sat them on the counter with a note saying, "Just because I love you."

He was the one home sick and I got the flowers. Needless to say I will be making him a yummy fattening dinner when he feels better.

I love you, Doug! You are the best husband in the whole wide world!

Play Time!

Today Doug and I had some play time with our neighbors. We went to Adventure Crossing in Augusta. They have go-carts, miniature golf, arcade games, laser tag, and batting cages. It was hot but we had a great time. I got a hole-in-one playing golf. Yay! Doug and I rode doubles in the go-karts so we could ride with our neighbor and his daughter at the same time. Between our slow go-cart and our above average weight for it, we came in dead last. We even got lapped. Ha!

Here are a few pictures from the day.
