My little Diva

Auburn has been in a posing mood lately. Here are a few of her model poses. No, I did not put her in any of these positions - it was all her.

And apparently not the last

We had another snow day this week (8+ inches) and according to the weather reports it may not be the last. They are calling for more snow next Tuesday. Tomorrow it will be in the upper 60's and then drop Sunday. Already have my running shoes out for tomorrow and winter jacket out for Sunday through next weekend. Oh the joys of mother nature...

Cupcakes are always the answer

Today Doug was off so we wanted to get out of the house and enjoy the nice weather. Our first stop was lunch (yeah I didn't want to get out of bed) at a new restaurant by our house, Newk's. It has a variety of food but mostly sandwiches and pizzas. It was very yummy! While we were eating we were suppose to be discussing what we wanted to do that afternoon. We couldn't make up our mind and most stuff we thought of needed planning. So we got in the car and drove into DC. "There has to be something we could find to do there," was our thinking. First we drove through downtown DC, then headed over to DuPont Circle, then to Georgetown, and over to Bethesda. We found lots of shopping places and restaurants we will hopefully get the chance to go back to. We drove by tons of embassies and very nice homes. None were for sale so we didn't buy anything today...

After driving around aimlessly, we decided we needed to have something to show for our day. And we couldn't think of anything better than Georgetown Cupcakes. :)

No other pictures to post but cupcakes should be enough, right?

Even though it wasn't an action packed day (unless you include DC traffic) it was a great, beautiful day spent with Doug. And cupcakes were ate! Can't get better than that!

Last time!

This is it! No more pictures of snow until next winter. I am done with winter. I love the snow but the cold that comes along with it needs to go! We have had a few days of 40+ degree weather and I am ready for 70+. I bought new running shoes today and I am ready to get out on the trails and use them. So this is it, I am declaring it. No more snow! So enjoy these last few pictures from the LAST SNOW OF THE SEASON!

Thermostat War

This commercial is a 100% snapshot of my parent's house on a daily basis. Mom turns it up, Dad turns it OFF! Thank goodness for heaters and fans, but even those had to be turned off at night :( 18 years (not counting the trips home since then) of watching and being apart of this daily battle makes me laugh at this commercial. And really appreciate Doug for keeping me warm in the winter. Unfortunately, I think 18 years of winter in my parents house had lasting effects. How many people do you know wear fleece pants or curl up in fleece blankets even on the hottest days in summer? Doug turns on the air conditioning and I freeze. Ha!
