Downs Park

Wednesday after work Doug and I went to Downs Park which is right on the Chesapeake Bay. The rain held off for us but it was very cool and windy. Once again, since it was the middle of the week and dreary weather the place was empty. We had a nice, relaxing time exploring the park. Doug even stuck his toes in the cold water! The best part was sitting on the benches overlooking the water. We would love to go back for a picnic on a warm, sunny day and take Auburn. The park is very dog friendly and even has a dog beach for them to play on.

Strawberry Pickin

Tuesday I took the day off with Doug and we drove up to do some strawberry pickin at Baugher's Farm in Westminster, MD (same place we got the apples at last fall). It was an overcast day and muddy as the rain we have had all week was starting to roll in but we had a great time. Thankfully I remembered to grab tennis shoes so I could change out of my sandals. I didn't think to ask Doug what shoes he was wearing but they came clean in the wash. I haven't picked strawberries since I was little and Doug has never done it before. It was very relaxing. Since it was in the middle of the week they were not busy and we had the field almost to ourselves. The strawberries were very ripe and it was hard not to pop every one I picked right in my mouth.
