Do you remember my blog where I complained about getting a new cell phone? Then the blog after that when I had to get another new one but same type? Then the blog after that when I had to get ANOTHER new one but is was still the same type?
Well, guess what this blog is going to be about!!!
However, this time we are not getting the same type. Yep! Goodbye Samsung Fascinate and all your cuteness, Hello Droid HTC Incredible 2! Moral of story, don't choose a phone b/c it is cuter than the others.
I liked Samsung's look and how pretty the stuff on the screen was (yeah that is my technical term for it) but the thing would freeze on me and drop calls all the time. It would even just pop up a missed call without ever even ringing. Doug was about to throw the phone out the window but I wanted to keep it. Well, one of his dork web-sites said that the phone was about to have a mandatory update and it would make the phone worse than what it was. He called Verizon and they confirmed it and told him they were offering a free update to a new phone in exchange for the old one.
So next Tuesday I will be a proud owner of a phone I know absolutely nothing about. Yay! I am currently working on backing up everything on my current phone to prepare for the swap. I have done this a few times so (brush my shoulder off) I am getting to be a pro at this. However, don't ask me how b/c I do not know ANY technical terms. HA! Everything is a thing-a-ma-bob or a thingy. I know...
So wish me luck learning how to use my new phone next week. I will let you know how it goes. I may be "out of touch" for a few days until I figure out how to text. Ha!

Boring life
Wow. It has almost been a month since I have blogged. The only reason I am blogging right now is because we are slow at work today and I am bored. I really have nothing to report. We have been hanging out at the house for most of the month, living a low-key lifestyle. I honestly think the most interesting thing we have done (besides having dinner with friends here and there) is going to see the last Harry Potter. I know, we like to live on the dangerous side. I promise we will slow down and start acting our age. This summer has been a nasty hot one so we have tried to stay indoors as much as possible. We are also trying to be a little tighter on the money. No reason. Just a good idea.
Most of you reading this are friends with me on Facebook so I have no pictures to post of us or Auburn that you have not already seen before. I am also trying not to be one of "those people" who's whole world is tied around their dog. I love Auburn but I try not to talk about her and show her off 24/7. You know?!
We are going to Valley next weekend so maybe that will give me something to write about. Usually it is a boring weekend of shopping and eating but since Auburn is coming along she may spice up the weekend. Ha
Maybe I will have something exciting to blog about soon. Who knows. Until then...

Birthday Part 2
So Thursday night we went to Monterey with a group of friends. I pigged out like usual and we had a great time. They told them it was my birthday so I had to wear the stupid hat while they sang to me. I have a picture that Doug took of me but I can not post it because while he was taking the picture I temporarily lost control of my middle finger. Oops! I did get a shot of Tequila out of the whole ordeal but since I do not take shots I gave it to a friend.
After we ate everyone came over to our house. I was tired so I spent most of the night on my bed with Jordan watching Shrek. Ha! I opened my presents from Doug and he got me an Auburn towel, a book, and a gift card. He did good this year, the gift card was the only thing on my list.
Mom and Dad came up Saturday and the weekend of eating began. We ate Chick-fil-a, Shane's BBQ, Hardee's, Chili's, and Mellow Mushroom. I took Dad to Shane's, his favorite BBQ place in Augusta, for Father's Day and they took me to Mellow Mushroom for my birthday. I L-O-V-E their Greek salad. It is AWESOME! After we ate we walked it off in the mall. Of course when me and Mom get together we feed our shopping addiction. I was surprised that I was unable to find a whole lot. I walked out of almost every store I went in empty handed. If I did see something I liked they did not have it in my size. I guess it was just not my weekend. But I did get some cute stuff and it was all on-sale! Yay!
Auburn loves Dad so they spent the entire weekend playing. She was exhausted when they left. I think she slept all day Monday. I know she misses them today.
All-in-all I had a great Birthday. Low-key, simple, and spent with great family and friends. Thanks for all the Birthday wishes and to all of those who took time out of their lives to spend my Birthday with me!

It's my BIRTHDAY (Part 1)
So today is my 28th Birthday. No special number, no special plans, but a Birthday none-the-less. We kicked things off yesterday when Jessica Y came over for dinner. I made my first attempt at cooking fajitas (from a box)! I must say I did a dang good job. I swear there is some Mexican under my white pasty skin! Jessica brought over a gallon of cheese dip (literally! It was in a to-go style styrofoam cup)and chips from my favorite Mexican restaurant and we pigged out!
Later that evening Doug's parents stopped by to give me my gift. They are moving to Maryland today so they were not going to be able to see me. They went in with Doug and got me a small TV for the kitchen. It is really nice and I love it! Our neighbors also came over to say bye to Doug's parents. In the end we had a full house. Auburn, of course, thought everyone had come over to play with her so she was happy as can be. Ha!
Tonight we are going to my favorite Mexican restaurant (see I told you I was Mexican) with friends. This year we went low key but I am sure we will be having a blow-out party here soon...! Stay tuned for details!

I love using Shutterfly. I have over 20 photo books made and I also order my Christmas cards and prints from them. They have recently updated their "Custom Path" section of designing photo books. Before, you could pick the layout, background, and font size & colors. Now you can do everything. Pick a layout but do not like the placement of a picture or text box, move it. You can delete what you do not like and add whatever you want. You can also re-size the pictures and text boxes. It is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! It really gives you that "scrapbooking" feeling by giving you stickers and embellishments. If you are not that picky, they do have "Idea Pages" and "Layouts" that already have everything on there for you. But one click of the "Customize Page" button will fix any little thing you do not like on that page.
I attached the book I did using the new "Custom Path". As you look through it, remember I hand placed every thing on each page. It was so much fun! I hope you try it out!

Auburn pictures
It has been awhile since I posted some pictures of Auburn. Since she is changing so much I am going to try and keep them more up-to-date.
She has also outgrown her bed. She uses it now as a play toy.
She has outgrown her crate. We bought her a new one today.

Doug dropped off Auburn at the groomer's today and came home with a different puppy!

I know Auburn hates being brushed but she did not give them any trouble when she had her puppy trim. The lady told Doug she ended up having to use scissors to cut her ears and beard. Poor thing. She was either scared to death or was trying to play. Either way, she finally looks like a Schnauzer!

Bye Bye Baby Teeth!

Ok. So, this blog of recipes is not exactly from my kitchen. They are from someone else's kitchen but they are so good I had to share. Both of these are super easy to make and are promised to go quick!
The first one is called "Hot Cheesy Onion Dip". It's called that because that is exactly what it is. This is a recipe for the onion lover and for the person who does not count calories. One bite of this would be all a calorie counter could eat for the day. Sorry for no picture... use your imagination...
Hot Cheesy Onion Dip
1 cup Mayo
1 cup Vidalia Onion
1 cup Shredded Cheese
Paprika
1. Mix all ingredients in a greased dish
2. Sprinkle paprika on top (as much as you like)
3. Put in oven heated to 400 degrees and bake 30 mins
After you take it out, let it cool and then sop up the grease with napkins/paper towel. It is a greasy dish but it is SO worth it.
The next dish is similar to ones I have made before but it is SO much better! It's called "Buffalo Chicken Dip with Blue Cheese". Once again, the name tells you exactly what is in it. This one has a little heat to it but it will not set the fire alarms off... unless you are a wuss when it comes to spicy food.
Buffalo Chicken Dip with Blue Cheese
1/2 cup Franks's Hot Sauce
1/2 cup Blue Cheese dressing
1/2 cup Blue Cheese Crumbles
1 package Cream Cheese
2 12.5 cans of chicken breast
1. Break up canned chicken by mixing in a dish with a fork
2. Mix all ingredients in greased dish
3. Bake at 350 for 20 mins

Mother's day weekend
This weekend we took Auburn on her first road trip to Valley. Not only was it Mother's Day, it also was the weekend of the Cotton Pickin Fair. My Mom has been going to the fair ever since I was a little girl. Before it was her "day off" from me. Now it is something we enjoy doing together. It is out in the middle of nowhere in a field. Your feet/shoes get dirty, your face and neck get sunburned, and you spend a bunch of money on a bunch of stuff you do not need. It's fun!
Our trip started off nicely Friday evening. I got off early and went home to pack the car and feed little butt so by the time Doug got off we were ready to roll. Auburn likes riding but could care less to look out the window. She is too focused on playing with us to care about the wind in her face. She was a little unsure of why she was riding in the crate and not in our laps but she soon got over it and fell asleep.
About 40-50 miles into our trip a semi slung up a rock and cracked my front window. Yeah. Fun... So since we were in a car, riding, and had nothing better to do, we went ahead and called the insurance company. Must say, I love AllState! We were not on the phone for a LONG period of time and the window was fixed the next morning. It was very nice. This was the first time I had a cracked window so I was a little stressed but they took great care of us.
Auburn L-O-V-E-D Mom & Dad's big house and big yard. She ran from one side to the other and back again. Mom acted like I expected, scared and unsure of what to do around the puppy. Dad and Auburn became BFF's almost immediately. Every time I put Auburn in her crate, Dad would go get her back out. Poor dog got no sleep all weekend. He walked her and played with her and probably even feed her some "no-no" food and she loved him for it. She got away with a lot more at their house than she does at ours. She pooped on the carpet twice and piddled once. We tried to hide it from Mom so she would not have a stroke. I was very surprised when Mom got down on the floor Saturday night but then when Auburn jumped up on her she said, "I did not get down here to play with you. I wanted to pet you." Oh Mom! Let's just say Auburn and Mom are still working on their BFF status. Ha!
We had a great time at the craft fair. Doug got burned and ate a lot of "fair" food. I shopped and got dirty feet. Ha! Here are the pics of what I got...
This is one of my favorite things I got. They have a web-site and I will have to post it on here. They make all kinds of stuff with this same beading design. Plates, bowls, cups, serving pieces of all types (butter dish, cheese plate, bowls, etc), and even salt and pepper shakers. The stuff is too cute and it comes in a variety of color patterns. I already know which piece I want for my birthday!
On a side note, Auburn is now staying in the kitchen (out of her crate) all day without piddling! Yay!
