Work it!

So last year I began working out. No seriously. I did. We were going to the beach and I had to get my flab under control before I could strut my stuff at the beach. So I got my weights and balance ball out of the closet (been collecting dust since the wedding) and got to work. I didn't diet, just cut portion sizes and quit snacking in between meals so much. I did On Demand workouts, running, and made up my own while I watched my favorite shows. By the time we got to the beach I was feeling good and most of my clothes were loose on me. But when we got back, I didn't stop. I kept at it and by August I was in my skinny jeans (bought before the wedding). By Thanksgiving, the skinny jeans were loose on me and I was having to buy new, smaller clothes because not much was fitting anymore. Then in December and January I fell off the wagon. There was a lot going on and the Christmas break kept going for a few extra weeks. :)

In February I got back at it again. It is too cold to go running so I was sticking to inside stuff. Then one day a week or so ago, a friend posted this video on Facebook,

One watch and I was addicted. I started following her on Facebook and in a week I have literally watched her career skyrocket. She now has a YouTube page, a website, teaching classes at gyms all over the south, and a is recording and posting new workout routines almost daily.

I don't like working out but anyone who knows me knows I LOVE to DANCE! These videos have me up on my feet for hours at night. I do almost all the videos and some twice. Its a nice break from the weights and balance ball. I am actually excited to go home and workout every night. And Doug doesn't mind me doing them at all. Ha! He calls it "Twerk Out" instead of workout. Ha!

So thank you, Jessica, for keeping by butt off the couch and shaking it! Thank you for taking extra time to post these videos and sharing them with the world.

And why not some more snow!

So after we got the 10 inches (officially from the local news) on Thursday, we got hit again Friday into the night with another 3-4 inches.

Remember that nicely cleaned off car and shoveled parking spot... it was gone within a couple of hours. I had to re-shovel on Friday. :(

The wind blew all of the snow out of the trees after the first round of snow. This was all from the second round we got.

And if that was not enough, we got a wet, mushy 1-2 inches on Saturday. I decided to adventure out after it stopped and walked down the road to this trail that goes through the woods. I definitely got my workout from walking through the snow and trying to stay upright but the view was worth it.

The news is reporting will we get some more snow Monday night into Tuesday morning. I am not sure how much but we are suppose to get into the 50's during the week so it shouldn't stay around too long. I already have my shorts and bathing suits pulled out for the warm weather. :) So excited to see 40 and 50 degrees!!

And even more snow

Last night it started snowing so we went out to play (well for Auburn to eat snow...)

It's hard to see but that is snow clumped in her beard.

And this is what we woke up to this morning...

Ryan's car is snowed in

That is a street sign buried in a pile of snow

The brick wall covered in snow (looks like a line across the picture) is over a foot tall. This best shows how much snow we got.

I shoveled snow for the first time in my life.

We are suppose to get 1-3 inches tonight and make a few more inches Friday night into Saturday morning. Yep, love snow but so ready for some warm weather.

More Snow

This time it was a light dusting. It was perfect for Auburn; not too deep to run around in and perfect for eating. She gets just as excited for snow as I do. I wish it didn't clump in her fur so I could let her stay out longer. She acts so pitiful when I bring her in. Next year we have to invest in some snow boots and jackets for all three of us.

Baltimore Auto Show

Last weekend we drove into Baltimore to go to an auto show at the Convention Center. It was a very cold day so it was nice getting out of the house but still being somewhere warm. I took full advantage of the Starbucks inside and got a very hot and yummy hot chocolate. The auto show was a stimulation overload between the people, lights, and cars. It was fun being able to look at so many different makes and models all in one place. Most cars were not roped off so you could sit in them and even pop the hood. Of course the fancy (expensive) ones were off limits but we still enjoyed seeing them. I think I narrowed my next car down so the trip was a success. Now its time to save up so I can take it home!

Ryan's favorite

One of Doug's favorite. He says this will be his next car because it's the only one he wants that is even close to being affordable. Not sure when a Nissan GTR is going to be affordable but can't keep the man from dreaming.

The new Mustang. I actually like it.

Doug's next favorite car

This is one of his favorites ever, the Acura NSX. They don't make them anymore so he rarely gets to see it.

How do I look? Mine will be navy or black. :)

Cute puppy pics

Yeah, couldn't resist posting these...

Refusing to get out of bed and shielding her eyes from the light.

It was really cold... and we were inspired by a Star Wars character...

"Mom thinks it's hilarious when I run around trying to get a clothes pin off my ear. I don't find it funny at all!"

This is her "Whatcha eating? Gonna share?" pose.

Congrats Doug!

Today was Doug's last day as a supervisor of lost prevention/inventory/a whole lot of other things at the Best Buy location in Annapolis. Tomorrow he starts his new job as General Manager of Best Buy Mobile in Arundel Mills. The store is a stand alone, mobile only store inside the mall. He has the mobile and store manager experience from being the previous supervisor of the mobile department in Best Buy and manager of Batteries Plus in Georgia. I know he will do great!

There are some ups and downs of the new job. NO MORE OVERNIGHTS! But he will loose the fixed Sun-Thur 6-2:30 schedule we have been enjoying. Hopefully he will still get a Saturday or Sunday off every month. I will miss seeing him every night and having fun every Saturday. But this is a step up in his career and more money in the pocket!

So let's all give Doug a big CONGRATS on his job promotion. This is one proud wife! Love you, babe!

2 Road trips

The past two weekends Doug and I took a small road trip with Ryan and Doug's mom. Both trips had a destination of food... The first trip was a two hour drive south to Fredericksburg, VA. There lies the closest Steak and Shake. Yes, we drove two hours for Steak and Shake. What's it to you? We told Ryan about it when he went to Atlanta last year for a wedding. He stopped and was hooked. I teased him in Dec by sending him pics of my milkshakes from there when we were in Alabama. He made us promise him a road trip to the closest one so we held up our promise. We took a "back road" down and saw a lot of Maryland and Virginia we had not seen before. There was still a lot of snow on the ground so it made for a pretty drive even though it was longer. We enjoyed our burgers and shakes very much. Our waitress was surprised to hear we drove 2 hour just to eat there. Hate its so far away. Another trip is already planned for the summer. :)

The next weekend (last weekend) we headed 1.5 hours north to Shrewsbury, PA. There lies the Amish market. I would say Doug and Ryan went crazy buying food but I was right there with him. We bought lots of baked goods and then ate lunch. Everything is so cheap we pigged out, brought tons of food home, and only spent $40. This was one of the first nice days we had in a while. It was sunny and in the 40's! It was nice being out and about and not freezing.
