Pack up and Move out!

So, as most of you know by now, Doug and I are moving. We found a 3 bedroom, 2 bath townhouse right down the street from where we currently live. The entire third floor is the master (bedroom, closet, and bath). I cannot wait to have all that room. Best part, more square footage for less rent! Next favorite thing is that it already has a place to put my Auburn flag Doug got the Christmas before we moved up here. I am so excited to put it up!

We have been super busy packing and running around getting ready to move into the new place. We sold our old bedroom furniture last week so we could upgrade to a king bed. This of course led to driving all over town trying to find new furniture and hoping it was in stock so we could stop sleeping on the floor. Our queen mattress will go in the guest room (yall are welcome whenever!!) so I have also been searching for stuff for that room. We are also taking this opportunity to throw out the old (I mean OLD!) and replace with new. I know some things you can keep forever, but 5+ years on some stuff is just too long!. I guess you could say I am in full "nest" mode. Luckily I am getting great deals thanks to the Back to School tax break week and Labor Day!

Auburn will have some difficulty with the new place because the whole 1st floor is hardwood. As most of you know, she doesn't walk well on them. She more skids/slides down them.... I hate to cover the beautiful wood up so I guess I will be laying down runners from the stairs to the couch and from the couch to the front door. :)

Each night Doug and I are packing at least one box. Since we will not have much help the weekend we are moving, we are trying to prep as much as possible. I would say we are 65% packed. Most that is left is the everyday stuff we can't pack until right before we move. It is getting me out of cooking dinner every night, which is good and bad all at the same time. Since we sold the bedroom furniture, all my clothes are in the floor or in boxes. Makes putting up laundry super easy but makes finding specific things hard. I have worn t'shirts and jeans just about every day to work this week.

Doug and I are super excited to move and settle into our new place. Everything has worked out more than I can even begin to describe. I didn't know when we first saw the place, but looking back now I know this is the place we were meant to be in.

Big things are happening!

So I haven't been blogging lately because we have been extra busy. For the past few weeks our lives have been consumed! Here is a hint!

Got any guesses? Details coming soon!!! :)
(And for those that know, don't spill the beans!)

A day at the beach

Monday Doug was off so I decided to take the day off with him. Unknowingly at the time, Doug's uncle from Wisconsin and his family were on vacation in Ocean City, MD and his parents were driving over to see them. So we hitched a ride to the beach. It was a gorgeous day! The sun was shining and a cool beach breeze was blowing. Unfortunately, someone forgot to tell the Atlantic is was summer. The water was very chilly but we got in anyways (see the great picture Doug got of me below). We ate some lunch, hung out on the beach, and went for a walk down the boardwalk. It was great meeting family that I had never met before. I couldn't tell you half the people I met because there were so many people there but we had a great time with them all. They welcomed us into their rental and made us feel at home. Maybe one day Doug and I will get to spend more than 24 hours at the beach...

Playing in the waves (which were very big!)

Doug being funny, having me pose for a picture and get hammered by a big wave. Remember the cold water! My face tells you exactly how cold it was. Ha!

 Hanging at the beach house.

Strolling down the boardwalk.

This is only a small fraction of the family that were there.

Relaxing!

Makes me smile!

She is lazy, spoiled rotten, and warms my heart every time I look at her! These are just a few pictures of moments she melted my heart.

Such a hard life!

Brew and a dog

Our friends Shannon and Ryan got us tickets to a Washington Nationals baseball game. Unfortunately, Doug had to work so Mrs. Nancy came along in his place. It was nice having someone with is who knew all the ins and outs of the ballpark. We got great seats, yummy drinks, and some amazing food. It took the brew and a dog thing to a whole 'nother level. I hope we get to go back again soon and Doug gets to join us. I know he would like the hotdog I had and I have already plotted my next eats (because you know its all about the food wherever I go).
