Big kid room

Monday, Mason moved from the infant room to the toddler room. Break out the Kleenex! Mommy's baby boy is growing up! Mason and I loved his infant room teacher but since he was the biggest and only one walking (heck, the others are not even sitting up yet), he had to move up. It is good to have him with other kids his age so he can continue to learn and develop from watching them. With that said, the new room is "different" and we are having some growing pains.

First off, there is a set feeding schedule and it is NOT what he is use to. The 9 am breakfast is exactly when Mason would eat (after having a bottle when he wakes up) but his lunch went from 1pm to 11 AM! That is an early lunch! His new teacher is doing good with transitioning him but his picky, horrible eating habits are already bad enough. The poor lady is feeding him almost all morning and afternoon to get him to eat a normal amount of food. (This is also a topic of conversation for a different blog some other time.) Snack is at 2 pm when it use to be at 4. So by the time we get home and get super ready at 6 pm or later, the poor boy is (usually) starving. (Once again, another topic for another blog.)

The biggest and hardest adjustment is nap time. He has gone from 2 a day to 1. This has made night time very difficult for us... The tired, cranky Mason has wrecked havoc in the house all week. Wednesday he just screamed non-stop. After doing everything I could think of, him refusing to eat dinner, and not even a bath cheering him up, I put him to bed with a bottle. I hate doing that but he was just too tired. He was asleep by 7... The sun was literally still up...

Thursday night was better and tonight was great. He was tired and fussy when we got home so I took him on a walk around the neighborhood. He calmed down but never went to sleep. The best part was he ate a whole bunch for dinner and was in a great mood after. It was a much needed break after a long week.

Mason was not in the mood to model his new playroom. I got the best pictures I could...

Best part about the toddler room, more time in the big rec room. Can you tell how much he loves it?!
