Moving backwards

So a couple of weeks ago we got some news but I haven't had time to sit down and tell everyone. Our landlords have decided to put our town home on the market so we have to move out by the end of April. After our year lease ended they kept us on a month-to-month lease, which I am guessing was their intention to eventually get the house on the market and only have to give us a month notice to move out.

Since we have so much going on with our trip to Alabama and Mason's birthday, we didn't really have an opportunity to look for a new place. We decided, for now, we would move back to the apartment complex we lived in when we first moved to Maryland. We are actually moving into the same floor layout so that will make unpacking easier. And we will be on the first floor in a one story apartmemt... so no steps for me to fall down! Yay! Unfortunately we are going from a 3 bedroom to a 2 and when we last lived there we didn't have Mason and all his stuff. So to help give us some space we have rented a garage at the apartment to store our extra stuff in.

We got the garage today and have started moving stuff over into it. We are getting more boxes on Friday so this weekend will be a lot of packing  and moving over to the garage. In the middle of packing for our trip to Alabama and planning Mason's party I have to now pack the house up and prepare to move. The craziest part is when we get back from Alabama we will only have a week to finish packing. We get the apartment on the 29th and we have to be out of the town house by the 30th. Talk about stress! Mom was voluntold she was riding back to MD with us and spending at least two weeks with us to help pack, move, clean, unpack, and most importantly watch Mason.

We had talked about moving especially with a baby, three levels, and a clumsy mommy. But we were hoping to do it on our terms and with more than a month's notice. But life never goes as it should so here we are making the best out of what we have. There are a lot of pros to the apartment like no steps, a pool, and a big park across the street from Mason to play at. But my heart breaks to move from the home we brought Mason home from the hospital to. I know we will make great memories at the new place... and my parents will be thrilled to sleep on the floor when they visit (what was the guest room when we lived there before is now the nursery).

Mason is having a blast playing with the moving boxes.
