Another snow, another day at work

It's just not fair. Snow is suppose to equal me at home watching it snow all day. Not at work looking at a computer screen. Big waste of perfectly good snow if you ask me. But here we are, another day of snow and I miss out on it. At least it has been cold enough that it is not melting before I get off. This time Doug and I took a little stroll around the neighborhood. We were the only ones outside! Not even the kids were out playing in it. I guess they don't care unless its a foot!

28 week checkup

I had my 28 week check up this week and everything looks good. Besides some swollen body parts (head to toe in my opinion!), a little heartburn, and a very active baby (doctor said at this point what I am feeling ALL DAY LONG is not gas), Mommy is in good health. Been trying to keep my feet up more while I am at work and after I get home. My knees, calves, ankles, feet, and even toes have been doubling in size when I don't. I have not been working out very much so I am going to try to do better with that. The doctor said that should help get the swelling down as well.

We did the infamous 1 hour glucose test and I got my Tdap shot. Lets hope my sugar levels look good. If not, I will have to do the three hour test (drink sugary liquid and have blood drawn once every hour for three hours). I barely survived my blood being drawn once. Don't think three times in three hours would go over well. The lady was really good but it still took her two sticks due to my crappy veins. They hide, wiggle, and don't produce the goods. My arm is still sore from the shot. It's been awhile since I have had one of those. It's going to be hard for me to convince Mason to sit still for a shot. How can I lie to the poor boy and tell him it will not hurt? Mommy can't be near a needle without Daddy there by my side (he is my focal point, distraction, and catcher when I get a little woozy).  I totally understand if he refuses or screams bloody murder.

Mason's heartbeat is still strong and steady. I am hoping we get to do another ultrasound soon. I need to get yall another picture of the little man! Everything is right on track so I have not given them cause to do any more. I guess that is a good thing! Let's hope we keep on this good track and the last trimester is smooth sailing!

Finally a good couple of inches!

So far this year we have been getting a heavy dusting of snow but, finally, we got a couple of inches. Like all snows so far, it happened all day while I was at work. :( Luckily, Doug was off so he was able to get some pictures for me and take Auburn out to play in it. I am still waiting on my snow day.

Slight addiction

So we are getting ready for Mason to make his arrival. Instead of buying essential stuff like diapers, wipes, bottles, or benadryl (just kidding), I have been stocking up on cute clothes! I just can't help myself! Of course I am smart shopping and getting good deals since I don't know how big Mason will be and when he will be what size. I am also getting a range of sizes, from 0-3 months to 12-18 months. It's just hard to say no to these cute little outfits!

Getting him ready for his first football season!

I have decided he will play football AND baseball.

And how can I say no to orange and blue onsies with tigers on them?!?

So we are three months out, with no showers attended yet, and Mason's closet already looks like this... (please note this closet has bi-fold, french closet doors)

I promise to take a break from clothes and start investing in more important things... like shoes! :)

My other baby

My other baby is still stealing my heart! I swear she is getting cuter and sweeter everyday. She loves her momma and her momma loves her!

She asked me to tuck her in :)

Doug found her using my leg as a pillow one morning.

Under the covers, curled up as close as she could get to me, using my arm as a pillow.

Third Trimester

Wow! I cannot believe we are two thirds the way through! I know the last three months will fly by just like the first 6 did. Next week I go for the official 28 week check up appointment and the favorite glucose test. Then after that we are going every other week, then every week! I plan on having the doctor help me figure out what tummy rumbles are baby and which are gas. I feel like I am missing out on that part of the pregnancy. Feeling Mason moving around should be something I get to enjoy instead be annoyed about thinking it is gas. Ha!

Here is an updated belly picture. Definitely starting to "pop" out now. I am not too uncomfortable yet. I still sleep well and my pants are still fitting with a button or two undone.

Last week Doug wanted a burger so he went to pick us up dinner at Red Robin. I am still opposed to meat so I got a turkey burger. I am not sure if what I actually got was a turkey or garden burger but it tasted well enough to eat about half of it. After I stuffed my face I started feeling a little queasy. I got up to do dishes and came face to face with Doug's "real" burger. Between the after taste of my "turkey" burger, the smell of Red Robin lingering in the air, and seeing his burger I quickly became green in the face. I ran upstairs to escape the smell. I stayed up there while Doug cleaned up and Febreezed the first floor. I did not get sick but it was a close one. The next night, Doug and his Mom got Chipotle. I had chips and salsa then ate a few bites of his chicken burrito bowl. Since I did not eat much, I had a bowl of Cheerios before bed. As soon as I was done I felt yucky. It was not very long before I lost it. We are talking projectile here! It was crazy! I am not sure if I had a bug or just ate something that did not sit well with me but my body made sure every bit of whatever it was came out. I feel better now but Red Robin and Chipotle will be off the menu for a long time.

Since I was feeling better, I got out of the house Sunday to run some errands. It was finally sunny and above 30 degrees! There is a baby consignment store close to our house so I took some time to stop by there. I rarely go to consignment stores because I hate digging through clothes. I feel my time spent searching versus the money saved is not worth it. But I figured with kids clothes it couldn't be too bad. Well, I am glad I stopped. They were having a clearance event and had almost everything for $1. Look at what all I got for less than $20!

That's 8 onesies, 1 shirt, 4 pants, and a pair of overalls! I can't wait to go back when they have their summer stuff out! I may become addicted!

It must have been my lucky day because I also got a rug for the nursery for a great price!

Now we have to pick out the furniture and get that on its way. We will have a completed nursery in no time!

Registries are done!

Well, it took a lot of moaning and whining, begging and pleading BUT I finally finished the baby shower registries. I am not going to lie, it was not something I was looking forward to. I know nothing about babies let alone what they need. Have you been to a baby store before? There are like 50 of everything. And chances are half of those items have horrible reviews or will be recalled in the near future becasue your baby may set itself on fire when using it. So yeah, there is stuff on the registry and I can only hope I will actually need the stuff or, more importantly, baby will like the stuff. I am embracing the thought process that A. There is a store close by if we find ourselves needing something we don't have or if baby hates the bottles I picked (i mean every brand claims they are the best. How can every brand be the best? Is there no one winner in the baby product world?) B. Shower attendees will get me what they think I need so surely I will get whatever I forgot to register for C. There is always Grandma :) As long as we keep baby alive and healthy we win, right?

Our first registry is at Babies-R-Us.

For those who like to buy from a store. It also gave me a basis of what I needed to register for.

The next registry is at Amazon.

I thought this would be helpful for those not able to come to the showers. I used the reviews to help pick the best products. My preferred high chair, bouncy/rocker/glider/swing chairs, walkers and play gyms, pack 'n play, bassinet, etc are on this registry. Plus, the prices are typically better. So if you see something on the Babies-R-Us registry, check Amazon to see if it's on there and if the price is better. Amazon also has a much better variety of products so I was able to register for more. I was even able to find some Auburn stuff on there!

The last, favorite, with the most essential items is Etsy.

This registry is all Auburn! Orange, blue, and navy is the theme of this registry. And it's a monogrammers heaven as most everything can be personalized with baby's name. For those not familiar with Etsy, it's all handmade stuff. So when you purchase something, make sure you do so with enough time for the item to be made and shipped. Also, almost all items can be customized by more than monogramming. You can request certain colors and designs for most items. I tried to put notes on everything but you can let your creativity run!

Of course gift cards are welcome from anywhere. Doug and I are very grateful for any help we get conquering this immense baby expense. We hope everyone can make it to one of the showers. We would love to see you and celebrate this little miracle with you.

And he will be called...

Mason Douglas Nunley

This was the first name I thought of and we both liked. I kept looking, just to see if we liked anything else more but Doug turned down all of those. We also wanted to honor our family by including them in the name in some way. That was the hard part. Coming up with a name that included everyone we wanted was impossible. But then, laying in bed one night, it clicked. The name we already both liked did include everyone. Some are a little forced but they are all there!

M - Memaw (my Dads mom) and Martha (my aunt)
A - Alta (Doug's dads mom)
S - Sylvia (my moms mom)
O - Pops (my dads dad)
N - Nathan (my dad) and Nancy (Doug's mom)

D - Deborah (my mom)
O - October (my mom and dads anniversary)
U - August (Doug's mom and dad anniversary)
G - Grandaddy (my moms dad)
L - Lorraine ( Doug's moms mom)
A - Faye (Doug's moms dad)
S - September (our anniversary)

We hope you love the name as much as we do!
